Voting Finalized for Nominating Committee At-Large Members



The results of the ASHBA membership vote for the two at-large nominating committee representatives were announced Monday, Feb. 24th during the conclusion of the ASHBA Annual Membership Meeting via Zoom.

Congratulations to Betsy Boone and Scott Hagan, who received the highest number of votes. Donna Pettry-Smith and Judy Werner will serve as alternates.

A new executive committee was also voted into office by the board. They are:

Smith Lilly, president

Jennifer Dixon, vice president

Malissa Welke, secretary

Rachel Seifert, treasurer

Chris Schubert, president-elect

The board also welcomed two outstanding members of the Saddlebred community -Allison Deardorff and Sophia Fischer. Allison is a well-known trainer and licensed official hailing from Oregon state, with a long, respected family history in the Saddlebred industry. Sophia has served the association on various committees, including Charter Club and Governance Council, and she and her husband, Michael, operate Buchanan Stable in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

The board thanks Joe O’Brien and James Nichols for their service to the association over the past six years. ASHBA bylaws allow a board member to serve up to two consecutive terms; their terms ended in February.
